Services

The staff at Community Dental Center perform a complete array of services for pediatric patients ages 1-20 years old with Medicaid or who are uninsured.

N

X-Rays

X-rays, also known as radiographs, are an essential part of any dental treatment plan. They help a dentist diagnose potential oral care issues in a patient’s mouth, even before they become a serious concern.

N

Cleanings

During a cleaning, the dental assistant will scrape along and below the gum line to remove built-up plaque and tartar. Build-up can cause gum disease, cavities, bad breath, and other problems. After that, they will polish and floss all teeth.

N

Fluoride Treatments

Fluoride is a mineral that occurs naturally in all water sources, including the oceans. Research has shown that fluoride not only reduces cavities, but it also helps repair the early stages of tooth decay, even before it is visible. This is the best cavity fighter to help keep the whole family’s teeth strong.

N

Fillings

Fillings restore teeth damaged by decay back to their normal function and help prevent future decay. The staff will consider a number of factors when choosing which type of filling material is best for you. Including, the extent of the repair, location of the filling, and the cost.

N

Crowns

Crowns are fixed prosthetic devices that are cemented onto existing teeth or implants. These devices are most commonly used to entirely cover up or “cap” a damaged tooth or cover an implant.

N

Extractions

If a tooth has been broken or damaged by decay, the dentist will try to fix it with a filling, crown, or other dental treatment. However, when there is too much damage for the tooth to be repaired the tooth may need to be extracted – or removed.
